Beta availability
Nila is not publicly released. Internal TestFlight testing is available on Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The mobile beta deliberately excludes app blocking while Apple reviews the Family Controls request. The Nila Pro monthly product and eligible trial are now configured for UK and US sandbox testing. Production iCloud sync validation remains pending.
Supported minimum versions are iOS/iPadOS 18, macOS 15 and watchOS 11. TestFlight invitations are required; this page is not an invitation or a public download link.
Timers, alerts and feedback
Use Focus to start, pause, resume, extend or finish a session. The next interval normally starts manually. If an alert is missing, check Nila’s notification permission, your device’s sound and Focus settings, and Watch notification mirroring. Sounds and haptics can be adjusted independently in Nila; availability varies by device.
Sound studio
The sound update adds six original alarm melodies with preview controls, plus a free metronome with tap tempo, adjustable beats, accents and volume on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Open Sound studio from Focus or Settings. Closing the panel leaves the metronome running; stop it from the Focus screen. Alarm delivery still follows system notification, silent-mode and Focus settings. Watch uses its system notification sound and haptics.
App blocking
App blocking is not available in the current mobile TestFlight beta. A future iPhone/iPad build with blocking requires Apple approval for distribution, your individual Screen Time authorisation and a valid Pro entitlement. Choose your applications through the system picker. Starting or rescheduling shielding currently requires at least 15 minutes remaining in a timed focus session; stopwatch sessions do not apply shielding.
Pause or finish the session, turn blocking off, or use the available bypass when you need access. You can revoke authorisation in system settings. On Mac, enable Nila’s Safari extension and grant its requested website access. Mac blocking applies to Safari websites.
Sync and planning connections
When Pro sync becomes available, check that devices use the same Apple Account and that iCloud storage and connectivity are available. Look at the sync status and use Sync now. A session transfer is pending until the receiving device acknowledges it. Export your library before reinstalling or troubleshooting storage.
Calendar and Reminders connections require separate permissions. If access was revoked, enable it again through system settings. Nila completes linked reminders only through your explicit completion action.
Subscriptions and your records
Nila Pro is configured as a monthly auto-renewable subscription at £0.99 in the UK and $0.99 in the US, with an eligible seven-day introductory trial. The Apple purchase sheet shows the actual local price and eligibility. TestFlight purchases use Apple’s sandbox and do not charge you. After updating Nila, open Settings and Nila Pro. If a price does not load, use Retry App Store; newly configured products can take time to become available. Physical TestFlight purchase validation is still in progress.
Use Restore in Nila with the Apple Account used to purchase. Manage or cancel through Apple’s subscription settings. Cancellation does not delete your library; the free timer and export remain available after Pro ends. Use Settings to export CSV or JSON or delete your library. See the privacy policy for deletion and sync details.
